RIP: Estelle Bennett

Today, we mourn the death of Estelle Bennett, one of the members of the Ronettes. As is often the case with things that I love, it all circles back to Patrick Swayze who introduced me to the Ronettes through a small film called Dirty Dancing. Whenever, I hear Be My Baby, I remember pre-teen moments of thinking I would meet a boy named Johnny and he would sweep me off my feet through his groin gyrations. I imagine similar thoughts went through girls' minds in the 60s when this song was first released.
